  1. Risa F Scott

Risa slowly started her digital nomad journey. She was an engineer who decided to work from home. Once she did so, Risa found that working remotely is much more convenient than going to the office each day and wasting time commuting. Risa began to think about working remotely and traveling at the same time. After only one year of working from home, her engineering job started to gradually vanish. She was eager to launch her own business. She did so after finding out the challenges that she may face in her way.

Her job this time was Web design and Photography. She was already practicing and getting paid for doing them but just in her free time. Starting over was not easy for Risa in any way. She said: “ it was a struggle for the first few years as I discovered all there is to know and more about owning a business and how much time it takes. I learned many lessons; some the hard way”.

Although obstacles, Risa was happy with her new life. She saved her one time. She was able to sleep well, eat well, and practice some yoga. She was also making some plans to travel and go out with her friends.

Because she liked her new lifestyle, Risa decided to take it one step further. She bought a small RV and spent a whole summer renovating it. This RV becomes now her home and office.

Recently, Risa travel perpetually from one place to another. She makes contacts and networks in each place she landed on. Sometimes, she likes to slow down. Other times, she speeds up. This way of life keeps Risa from getting bored in one single place.

In the end, Risa is enjoying her new life, and that’s what matters the most. “ I realize how much I really wanted and needed a lifestyle like this to thrive”.

  1. Jakubovics Ivett

Ivett from Hungary finished her BA degree, and immediately got a job as an IT support agent in a multinational company. Despite the great salary, she felt, on her first day at work, that is not the life she dreamt to have. She said:” I wanted to create something not to sit behind a desk and answer phone calls from angry users”. That day, she determined to work as a freelancer for the five coming years. Therefore, she started to work on it. She made the decision of studying graphic and Web design. In 2018, Ivett felt that she could not bear the office work anymore. Thus, she made the bravest step and quit her job. She had a few freelance projects. However, she didn’t plan well before abandoning her work. Ivett sent many applications but she got only 3 sample work opportunities and 2 interviews and 0 offers.

She felt terrific, her surroundings advised her to go back to her work. And her manager offered her a promotion. Though she refused.

Now, Ivett is building her own business. She is her own boss. She has the power to decide her working hours. Ivett likes the fact that she is not commuting or going to work in cold winter anymore.  She enjoys creating and working with inspiring people that love the same thing as her.
